Where to have fun shopping in Antwerp?

Picture
As a traveler, I have been traveling to Belgium since 2000. For the case of interest and many favorite places and especially the tourism sector, the Antwerp has evolved as one of the favorite Belgian cities. It is the compact size of the Antwerp city and the well planned roads that actually made for me far easier to travel around the city of Antwerp. To my wonder, I found the most of the people at the shops in the Antwerp to be far friendly.

And never felt even it to be troublesome in reaching the Antwerp as I straight fly into the Brussels Airport in Zaventem that is about half an hour train ride from Brussels or a forty five minutes ride to Antwerp or on the Airport Express bus. More you can hang on to the train to Antwerp as it generally takes times to frequently change trains different stations. After reaching Antwerp, I found it to be as Antwerp as being divided into about eight shopping zones.  However, I am recognized and known to about three of the shopping zones as they are much near to the place where I generally stays in. And these shopping streets as well are according to the shopping and business needs.  The streets that connect to my place of stay are as Mercatorstraat, Simonsstraat, Pelicaanstraat and another one.  These streets are in the order as one would fine it to be much easier to reach at the Central Station.

There, the first shopping zone there is located at the Central Station that is spread all around and even is noticeable even from the far away. Along with the shopping I also love to visit the station shopping area for its eclectic, glass domed architecture. But what I have experienced from the previous years is that many of the diamond shops has been removed from the street and have been kept into a mall inside the train station. One can easily reach there through many a numbers of doors along the street. While walking straight past in front of Central Station one can easily pass between some shops and one rather open plaza that even is popular as Astrid Plein. Going straight to this road a few yards ahead the street moves into Van Wesenbekesstraat where Belgium’s only China Town is located. There one can see a few gift shops, grocery stores and specialty shops. The street opposite to the Central Station is De Keyserlei where a good number of shopping malls, restaurant, street vendors, chocolate shops, diamond shops, jewelry shops, clothing shops, shoe shops and grocery stores are situated in the malls along with a good reason for the bargain shops and many other shops. Oops! I forgot to tell this is the second shopping zone and is the only pedestrian’s zone. There, no such vehicular traffic can be found in around the second shopping zone.
